I hand carved this sculpture piece from a solid block of multi-colored green soapstone. The polished cresting wave contains a beautiful mix of dark green, light green, black, brown, and golden colors. The interplay of colors represent the tumultuous force of crashing waves. A rough natural matrix was left on the front to enhance that feeling of the crashing water.
This piece is excellent as a distinctive focal point in your home or office decor.
Soapstone is a metamorphic rock. It is also known as steatite. It is composed primarily of talc, with varying amounts of chlorite, pyroxenes, micas, amphiboles, carbonates, and other minerals. Because it is composed primarily of talc it is usually very soft. Soapstone is also found in gray, bluish, green, or brown in color, often variegated. Its name is derived from its "soapy" feel and softness.

Soapstone is a calming, stabilizing stone. Soapstone/steatite can eliminate atmospheric electrical interference and facilitate amplified transmission of messages on and through both the physical and astral planes. It encourages the release of old habits in favor of new loving ones."
