This quality ammonite specimen is from Morocco. It is cut in half to reveal a deeply rich interior which includes spirals, pockets of citrine crystals, and beautiful artistic patterns. The back side has some play in iridescent color (known as ammolite). It shows beautiful ammonitic suture on the back as well.
Ammonoids are a group of extinct marine mollusc animals in the subclass Ammonoidea of the class Cephalopoda. The earliest ammonites appear during the Devonian, and the last species vanished in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.
