This design is a bright yellow and orange starfish set on a sea of blue streaks and dots. This is a hand crafted fused glass tray. It is a handmade fused glass piece with a shallow curvature perfect for decoration or everyday use.
I start with a base of streaked light blue glass and hand create the starfish and blue ocean dot from colored ground glass (frit). It is then capped with a clear piece of art glass to add depth and thickness. I fully fuse these together in the kiln. The piece is then fired in the kiln a second time to slump it into the bowl/tray form.
All pieces are hand created in my studio. The process includes selecting, cutting, assembling, and firing.
