Bumble bee jasper comes from island of Bali, near the town of Garut, Indonesia. It is collected by locals near hot vents of an active volcano called Mount Papandayan. The peak is around 8,700 feet high, which is one of the tallest volcanoes in Indonesia.
It is comprised of anhydrite, hematite, sulfur, and arsenic as well as other elements, the bumblebee jasper is actually an agate. The patterns are unique. No two are alike.
The yellow comes from sulfur. Despite it's beauty, the sulfur and arsenic content make this stone best suited for closed settings and general hand washing is recommended when handling it.
