This agatized jasper has a beautiful quartz vein down the middle. There are some visible fractures and chips in the piece and priced accordingly.
Jasper, an aggregate of micro-crystalline quartz and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in color. The common red color is due to iron inclusions.
